As every landscape photographer will probably tell you, a good shot often requires a good amount of planning. You need to think about the weather, about the clouds, about the best light in this location, about the best time of year... Sometimes, however, all these things just come together with no planning whatsoever. Sometimes the moon and the clouds are simply ideal at just the right time, and there is no wind at all, and your campfire just happens to be picture perfect. Sometimes all you have to do is to be there, to try and capture the scene to the best of your (and your gear's) abilities, and to be thankful for the opportunity that life itself presented to you on a whim - because sometimes it just does that.
